I’m new so I’m not sure what to write about besides the obvious. Little over a year ago I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer with metastasis to the liver, lymph nodes in chest and pelvis. It’s been difficult, more for my mum than anyone else.
I’m 29 and in a relationship, though it is long distance I’m crazy about her. I had already been diagnosed by the time we ‘met’ and she’s my rock.
Cheers. I’m looking forward to meeting lots of people here.

A Great Big Welcome and Hello.
Welcome to the Family.
Let us know how you are doing.

Welcome to the group. It is nice to have someone from the UK. I studied in Northern England for a semester.
I hope your treatment is successful! Hang in there kiddo Sharon
Hey mate,
You came to the right place, I have only been “eyecandy” for 24 days, but this is the place outside of family and friends, that has really made a difference.
I have only been to the big Island a couple of times, but I spent the last there years working with Brits in Kosovo.
Hang in there we are all fighting for ourselves, our loved ones and each other.
Cheers,
EyeCandy (Paul)
Welcome,
I too have stage IV NSCLC. Diagnosed 19 months ago. Given 18 months to live with treatment. Well, I keep on tickin’, although it has not been a piece of cake. I am currently on my third round of platinum based chemo (did taxol, carboplatin, and now taxotere). Third time losing my hair. Avastin didn’t work (though no side effecrs like you), Alimpta didn’t work, Tarceva almost killed me with intertitial lung disease, and on it goes. Currently I am in isolation at home as the Taxotere wiped out my neutrophils and I can’t fight infection. I am older than you by quite a bit at 56, and I am angry as can be that this nasty stuff would invade your body at 29. I am not a smoker but of course people assume I brought this on myself by being one. Please if you ever need to talk, just send me a message. Welcome, you will find a lot of support here. The Yanks just love a Brit! Gaile
